The 2008 season is over and January 8, 2009 marks the beginning of a new year in the world of golf (the Golf Channel is advertising this as the date of their coverage for the new year).
This past year had a lot of surprises.
1/ Rocco challenging Tiger at the US Open is a good start.
2/ The US Open had another surprise for us as well. We all knew that Tiger was hurt but who knew it would end his season!
3/ Vijay came back from relatively poor season (2007) to run away with the Fedex Cup.
4/ Trevor Immelman's victory at the Masters.
5/ Sergio's victory at the Players.
6/ Sergio and Mike Weir's great play during the Fedex playoffs.
7/ Padraig Harringtion's double major victory.
8/ and, perhaps the best surprise was the US victory over Nick Faldo at the Ryder Cup. (Faldo must wish he had brought Monty and Darren Clarke along.
