Ochoa Poised to Capture the Big Mac! (McDonalds LPGA Championship)

Lorena Ochoa is my pick to grab the Big Mac (McDonalds LPGA Championship). Right now she is the real deal when it comes to being poised and in position to scoop up her first major title.

Hitting her drive into the rough on the first playoff hole at the Ginn Tribute hosted by ANNIKA may prove to be a bonus for the current World Number One Female golfer. She is a fierce competitor and I think that she will not let her guard down, relax and take anything for granted until the trophy is safely in her hands.

Other Contenders

You can never count out Annika even though she claims to be only playing at 80% of her normal game. She is always a threat.

Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel are the only two young guns that really have a shot at this title. It would be great to see either of them hoist the trophy because they are not only the two most talented women golfers to turn pro in the last few years, but they are also the most popular.

Christie Kerr seems to be on top of her game. She almost came from nowhere to capture the Ginn Tribute last week. If she is within striking distance on Sunday, Kerr can be a threat to the leaders. In 2006, she came from behind to grab to tournament victories.

Two veterans who could be dangerous on the weekend are Carrie Webb and Julie Inkster. They both have the game and the savvy to win.

If you are looking for somewhat of a long shot to upset Ochoa, consider Stacy Prammanasudh. She quietly goes about her business at every tournament and seems to always finish near the top.

Chip Shots

It was great to see Se Ri Pak finally qualify for the World Golf Hall of Fame. She has been a force on the LPGA for a decade. This former Rookie of the Year is a golfer who truly deserves the honor.
