Ian Poulter finally accomplished a daunting task. He captured a PGA title on this side of the Atlantic.
Always a force on the European Tour, Poulter has been making serious challenges for a PGA title for several years. Yesterday, the flamboyant Englishman, wearing an all-pink ensemble crushed fellow Englishman Paul Casey in gruelling two-round golf match yesterday in Arizona.
I have been following Poulter all week at the Accenture and his attention to detail and competitiveness were incredible. Even yesterday, with a virtual lock on the title Poulter could be seen studying his notebook on the final green. Leaving nothing to chance, after going over the last minute details, Poulter calmly sunk his putt and the celebration was on.
Congratulations Ian Poulter! I expect to see you hoisting a few more trophies this season.
